In this interview, we have Yoropan. A Fireworks developer and designer from Japan.
To begin with, who are you and where are you from?
My name is yoropan. I live in Tokyo, Japan.
What do you work as in your day job?
I do design, coding, programming in small productions.
What type of projects do you work in Fireworks and are there any challenges you faced that Fireworks have helped you ?
I will make Flash animation with the character, I found to be useful about draw tool in Firework. I also like to draw the illustrations in Fireworks.
In another project, I make a form application in Flex and could make a rough layout with a common library.
However, the spark components of Flex4 isn't support. I had to write commands to convert it.
Of course, to create and cut out pictures of Mobile Application and Web sites have always used the Fireworks.
How long have you been using Fireworks?
First touch Fireworks 4. and started using in earnest from Fireworks 8 (windows version).
Why should a designer use Fireworks?
It may be less well-known, the pressure sensing pen tablet, allowing input from a scanner.
For non-digital designers, It help to start better the digital design.
Unfortunately, Japan's standard design tools (such a requirement because of the carriers) is AI and Ps, forces designers to learn these first.
Designers related to Web projects should use Fireworks. it's time saving.
Fireworks excels as a rapid prototyping tool. How does Fireworks helps you in your daily design workflow?
In new projects in order to check the transition of a Web page screen,
making each page a simple layout, linking by the hotspot tool to menu and button. finally export images and HTML. Then client make sure to get a mock-up of online.
What is your favorite workflow in Fireworks and why?
The combination of pen tablets are the strongest and vector path tool.
The various types of lines can be changed easily using the Redraw Path tool can be used to modify it.
The strength of pen pressure can change later in the path scrubber tool.
Can not piss it in AI. rattling and longing there!

1. Vector Path Tool + pen tablets
2. Paste Attributes
3. Symbols
4. Selection to path
5. Export as PDF
Many people compare Photoshop with Fireworks. What is your viewpoint in this?
Photoshop is many reasons to use in order to export the data produced by AI. It was used for this purpose. In this case, file management complexity, the more effort.
You can design with both the path and bitmap in Fireworks, workflow is simple.
When design changes, you can use the search/replace and symbols to quickly and flexibly respond.
However, if you take over data from the AI and Ps, because it can not convert the data well. Hope Adobe do more effort in this area.
Fireworks work even better with fireworks extensions. What are your favorite extensions from other developers and how do you use it in your work?
During normal operation, use these extensions.
SelectManager
When set slice, use these extensions.
SequenceNumSlice
ReplaceName
When design for Windows Phone app, use these extensions.
Do you develop your own Fireworks commands?
Yes. Must-have. I often develop in order to improve workflow.
Always use 2 extensions.
